i know you mentioned 15" rim, but I know someone might have a 315/75/16 mud terrain for sale, about 40%, no repair and $150, if you are interested, let me know.

I think in principle it's a great idea. In practice however, like most conversions, I don't think it will make financial sense unless you can do most of the work yourself. Which box would you use? The Nissan GU 4 speed would probably be the easiest to fit up mechanically, but it's a bit outdated technology wise, and it's computer will want to talk to an engine computer you don't have. The Nissan GQ Auto might be easiest. I think they have a standalone computer. But they're a bit old now.

Id go for it just because autos are far superior to manuals off road (gets in flame suit)
Aslong as you had the g/box, footbox setup, computers etc it should be a relatively straightforward swap... |

whats the go with the fancy bit on the front diff ? worth the effort in making ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdE-oXCS-YU It's an X-link. Designed to give more flex in the front end. Obviously illegal for a road going vehicle. My understanding is that the Superior Super Flex arms have made the X-link design redundant, but some of the comp guys on here probably know more. |
