hey all. picked up some gq flares the other week and tried to fit them last night.

came across a problem... there is a 'bracket' on the rear flares that doesnt seem to fit my vehicle.

see pic below....

the bracket (circled) doesn't fit there.... any ideas? (this is the rear driver wheel, photo taken facing front of vehicle)

the part in the square is just the plastic trim so i'd just notch that out to fit that bracket, then it should line up with the wheel arch and just put a screw thru to fasten it.

yep probably the easiest solution. i was kinda err'ing away from that at first, hoping there would be an option that didn't require cutting/hacking ... alas...

Well I fitted the rears over the weekend. Yep, cutting a notch out of the wheel guards was only option. Easy too.
Only problem it, my rear mudflaps don't come out all the way to edge of the flare ... so chasing up what to do there (maybe fine some new ones somewhere.. ebay?)

Still got the fronts to go. They only just fit in place with the scrub bar there.

i would have thought there was only one type of factory mudflap...if so i ditched mine when i got the car as they had rusted as most of them do...

maybe there is only one type. i currently have 'nissan' mudflaps - unsure if factory or aftermarket.
however they are are thinner (cover less of the tyre width) than others I have seen where flares are fitted.

Now there's a thing... I always thought there was only 1 type as well... but...

When I was selling the Grey Ghost (God I miss her  Cry) I went to put on the ones that Krittas thru at me with the Mighty GQ.

They didn't fit Shocked

I had 1 dodgy original one left from the 'Ghost and the metal bottom bit that rusts out and the profile of the stiffener wasn't the same when I compared 'em ... or rather what was left of 'em

Go figure
